Overstock.com Sucks
Thinking about buying something online? Whatever you do, don’t buy from Overstock.com. To put it nicely, it’s a nightmare.
About 8 weeks ago, I ordered a bed from Overstock. Simple, nothing special. Just a bed. I paid for my order, it was confirmed, my credit card was charged, and they said they’d send me an email when it shipped.
A few days later, I get an email saying my bed had been shipped to UPS and they would be delivering it within 10 business days. Awesome.
Needless to say, the bed did not arrive within 10 business days. I waited another few days just to see if it would arrive. I understand that sometimes things just run a little behind, so no big deal. I would just wait it out. I’m a pretty patient person.
Well, a few more days go by and my bed still hasn’t arrived. So, I check my UPS tracking number and give ole’ UPS a call to see if they could deliver it soon and find out what the delay is.
Based on my tracking number, UPS said they didn’t know where my bed was, or if they even received it in the first place. They wanted to started a trace for the “lost” product, but they told me to call Overstock first to make sure the bed was actually shipped.
I called Overstock on Friday afternoon and explained the situation and they told me to call back on Monday. Great. Another weekend without my bed.
Monday morning, I called Overstock back and they said the product was definitely shipped and that UPS must have it. They told me to call back UPS.
I called back UPS. They told me to call Overstock again, because they sure as hell didn’t have the bed, but they would initiate a trace on it.
So, basically everytime I called Overstock they told me to call UPS, and everytime I called UPS they told me to call Overstock. My patience was wearing thin.
A few more days go by and I still don’t have my bed. I made one final call to Overstock, where I explained the situation AGAIN and the customer service rep hung up on me before the problem was resolved. Great way to treat your customers. I wasn’t being rude or yelling or anything. I was just explaining my frustration how they promised me a 10 day delivery, yet at this point it had been about 4 weeks.
At this point, I am beyong caring. I just give up. If the bed arrives, it arrives. If it doesn’t, I’ll issue a chargeback on my credit card.
A few days after the customer service rep hung up on me, I get an email from Overstock saying that that the bed had been returned to them by UPS after a few failed deliveries. Bullshit.
I get back on the phone with Overstock and tell them there’s no way I missed the delivery. I work at home and I’m here all damn day. They are extremely rude, but agree to send me a new bed and not charge me their bullshit restocking fee.
A couple weeks later, my bed finally arrived. The wrong one.
Fuck you, Overstock.

I googled overstock.com sucks! I found your site… I ordered three books from overstock, what arrived looked like it had been thrown on the floor and spit on and then shipped to me. I returned the items, got new ones and then a month and a half later they just charge my card saying i never returned anything even though they had all of my returns as completed in their system. The ended up taking so much money that they overdrafted my account, I called and flipped out and after almost 2 hours and three emails, they aggreed to refund my money plus the fee. Ok, great. Then they charged my card again!!!! for the same thing!!! They overdrafted my account again.. in total, four times! My bank charged my over $200.00 in fees and can’t refund anything because overstock.com said it was their mistake!! But they refuse to pay for it. This is after sending at least $2,000.00 on their web-site in the past two years (all my Christmas/birthday shopping/home goods shopping). FUCK OVERSTOCK!!!!!
