Microsoft, You Can’t Kill Internet Marketing
Microsoft is gearing up to release Internet Explorer 8, their newest web browser. However, this browser is going to have one feature that is bad news for internet marketers and anyone else who relys on cookies and tracking to make their internet riches.
It will block ads by default (even Microsoft’s own ads - way to think things through, guys. No wonder you have the worst ad network on the planet) and make internet privacy a staple feature by making sure you leave no footprints when surfing the web. This could seriously cripple the internet marketing industry.
You can read about IE8 on Yahoo! News by clicking here.
By blocking the ads, this is also an indirect attack on Google itself - who relies heavily on revenue from their adsense/adwords advertising platforms. Shocking, I know. You really think Google is just going to sit back and take this bitch slap?
Hell no.
In order to compete with IE (sadly the most popular browser only because it comes preinstalled on most computers and people don’t know any better), Google is launching their own Browser called Chrome. Click here to check out Chrome and download the BETA version.
I won’t ramble on about the features, but let’s just say they are going to give Microsoft a run for their money. For once, I am very happy with a decision Google made, and you know they have the traffic and power to get this browser into the hands of even a complete internet noob.
For example, what if Google gets gangsta and decides they will block their search engine from IE users? How many times a day do you use Google? Exactly.
Long live Internet Marketing.
